It’s been a little while since I have written my thoughts down but I haven’t felt like I have had much to report on other than some golf scores and the words have not been coming to me!
These last few tournaments have been “operation desert golf”. Hit it pretty much anywhere you like off the tee box and then wedge it close and make some birdies. If you have been following then you can see that there have been lots of birdies and not many bogies overall indicating that the greens were soft and the fairways were wide.
The goal was to push my position up the order of merit to try and better my playing opportunities for 2023. I managed to move from 38 to 28 with some good tournaments in Saudi Arabia but unfortunately the top 10 and top 20 goals I fell short.
The last three tournaments have all been very similar, slow starts and then a big final day push to shoot a low score and get the most out of the day. I think my average score over these last three events has been my best to date which is something I can be proud of and showed that my fitness work and training is all starting to payoff. Although equally frustrating, the way I finished these tournaments off is a nice positive (I’d just rather have had top fives over top fifteens!). I’m going to need this if I want to get my playing rights back in January when I return to Asian Tour Qualifying school in Thailand. I’ve got to keep the faith!
I decided to miss the final event of the year in Taiwan which is played over Christmas Day, a decision that wasn’t easy but I have given a lot to this game and part of me felt like it owed me something back. I feel like it is a good time to have some coaching and hit the mental reset button ready for next year. I won’t be lazing about eating chocolate that’s for certain but I will be enjoying home and catching up with people. Hopefully the weather is a little better and I can get out and prepare well for January in-between the festivities.
I have a enjoyed keeping you all updated throughout the year and I have thoroughly enjoyed the positive feedback on my website and news posts, all thanks to Pro Golf Websites.
I’d also like to say thank you to Sheringham Golf Club for providing me a place to practice. Wilson Staff and Puma Golf for my equipment and of course my family for their support .
Have a good Christmas and I look forward to sharing some more exciting news with you again in 2023.
